AQUACULTURED PURPLE STAR POLYP FRAG

This Purple Star mat is a spreading soft coral which grows in mats. Also called Purple Star Polyp (PSP), this is an easy to grow piece which can benefit to being 'islandised' or eventually cut back to prevent it from smothering other kinds of corals in a mixed reef environment. Sometimes the polyps grow large and sway about in high flow. It (and all soft corals) will benefit from regular dosing of Iodide supplement, alongside direct uptake, liquid form of amino acids and/or live phytoplankton.

Frags are all genetically identicle captive grown clones of the pictured piece, originally sourced from the excess growth on the rockwork of Cam's mixed reef Display Tank at the Wynnum store which was set up in 2014.
